The primary objective of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine EAPM is to promote an integrated psychosomatic / biopsychosocial approach to health and disease.

Every year, the EAPM hosts a conference. This annual gathering brings together experts in psychosomatic medicine to share knowledge and network, and thus advance the field. The conference language is English.

In 2020, the 8th annual scientific conference of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine will be hosted by Danube University Krems, Austria, and will be held at Hofburg Vienna, June 24-27.

To avoid potential bias and support independent discussion, we do not accept conflicted funding.

We are honoured to announce Austria’s Minister of Health Rudolf Anschober as opening speaker for EAPM 2020 (June 24).

Memory and Age-Related Memory Loss

Right after the opening speech all attendees will be invited for an unforgettable networking experience at Hofburg, Vienna.

Not only does the EAPM symbolise the importance of a worldwide network in the psychosomatic field, the association also fosters strong ties between the different members and associated communities. The EAPM board decided to hold the annual meeting 2020 in Vienna, a great honour for us at Danube University. As the congress president, I am very proud to invite you to Europe’s most attractive capital, our beloved city of Vienna.

As an imperial conference and event centre, there is nothing like the Hofburg Vienna anywhere else in the world. For over 700 years, both past and modern history have been written within its walls.

Its location is unique: Cultural institutions – like museums, the opera, theatres and universities – are all conveniently situated within a few minutes’ walking distance. Hotels, restaurants and shopping options are located in direct proximity. The Hofburg Vienna is at the heart of Vienna, and Vienna is where the heart of Europe beats.

Dear colleagues,

In light of the current developments regarding COVID-19 we would like to give a brief update regarding our 8th annual scientific conference of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine (EAPM 2020).

With the constantly changing situation and the spread of the virus in Europe it is currently very difficult to assess if it is possible and safe to run the conference as scheduled.
Currently there is no definite indication to cancel or postpone the conference but we will carefully follow the developments of the next weeks.

As these uncertain times makes it difficult to plan, we extended the Early Bird Registration as well as the cancellation policy for registration until April 30th, 2020. In the meantime we recommend to postpone further travel and accommodation bookings unless reimbursement is guaranteed.

If you haven´t submitted your abstract, we will open the late breaking poster submission soon.
We will keep you posted about the status of our conference and please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

Thank you for your understanding and stay healthy!

Christoph Pieh
